5 Steps To Prepping Your Home For Sale by: Tim Rojas
Let’s work on curb appeal! We all live busy lives that’s no excuse to not have beautiful green grass and bright flowers or drought tolerant landscape whichever you prefer. Call your local landscaper or gardener and ask for multiple quotes. Great, now that the landscape is taken care of let’s touch up the exterior paint, you can take a sample of your current paint to Home Depot or Lowes for them to match. Now that the paint is touched up, you have a brand new looking house that prospective clients will look forward to walking into.
People will pay over asking for your door! What does that mean? I have seen clients fall in love with the smallest details of a home such as the door style and color. Yes, it’s a real thing. So please if you have an old rickety door, throw it out and invest in a new one. Some of the most trendy colors buyers love are; Teal, Red, Orange, Mint, Deep Blue, & Black. If you would like to see what I am talking about email ( tim@timrojas.com ) & ask for different sample and options.
First Impressions are everything! What is the first thing people will smell when they walk in your home. Yes, smell not see. People associate scents with good or bad memories. Let’s make it a good memory. I understand it’s your home and you do what you want in it, I get it, but, the goal is to sell the home not let it sit on the market forever. Let’s kill two birds with one stone. Call your local painters and get multiple quotes the fresh paint will do wonders with whatever scent was lurking in your home. Also keeping a clean house will assist with scents.
Take down all personal pictures. Yes, I know it’s tough but we need buyers to walk in and picture themselves living in that home. Do not worry we will have the home stagers put some beautiful frames and artwork to fill up the space.
Rent a storage unit! Please, this is huge! The more stuff you have the more space gets taken up & the smaller your home looks. It’s not a costly thing and the reward is worth more than the monthly fee you will pay. So let’s take all the unnecessary things and put them in storage.
This will help us prepare you and your home for sale. Any questions feel free to email me at tim@timrojas.com
