I decided to create this blog spontaneously. As a bi-coastal agent (NY-LA) I tend to deal with many different types of clients with different types of needs and price points, ranging from leasing apartments to buying + $9,000,000 properties. You all are humans and all have the same types of questions but different scenarios. As an agent it is my job is to figure out answers for your questions. Below I will give you tips on how to treat your agent / home buyer team experience. They are not mandatory but should be practiced for safe transactions.
Be completely transparent with each other. As a home buyer you have to understand that agent is working for you and has your best interest in mind. He is dedicating his time to you. If you feel as if you are going to be wanting to work with someone else please let them know do not just ghost them (leave them without proper notification), as they are working tirelessly to make sure you end up extremely happy with your new home. They will understand.
Proper communication and understanding. Make aware your budget, area you want to be in and any criteria you may want. Such as poo, sq footage, architecture style etc. If you are leasing, do you have any pets? Do you need a bottom floor, etc. Answer all questions even if they haven’t been asked.
Know your credit and finances and be honest about it. The smoother the transaction the faster it closes and the sooner you can move into your new place. Your agent won’t judge you and your credit/finance history. They are obligated to understand and find the best solutions for you.
If you are buying or leasing a property you do not pay the agent, the landlords or selling sides do. Let me repeat that, if you are buying or leasing a property it is free to use an agent.
Go to my Contact page and send me a message explaining what type of property you are looking to lease or buy.
